First off, I work on a very finely woven canvas. I find it responds the best to my work. Using an editor's blue pencil,
I sketch out the horizon. The horizon is extremely important - everything is based off of it.
I try to make it straight. I also put in a few action lines for BoxJam or any of the other characters I'm drawing. Over half my effort may go into this phase, as I work out the basic composition of the panel. |
