Also, in the book Founding Myths, Ray Raphael says that Molly Pitcher wasn't real. But he's wrong. He used the fact that Molly wasn't Mary's real name, and that she died Mary McCauley (she remarried), as "proof" that she's just an amalgam of several Revolutionary War women. He may also be in the Swift Boat Veterans for all I know.
